How to understand your TEAS exam score?

TEAS Score Requirements ATI does not set the passing score for the TEAS test. Instead, nursing or healthcare schools set their minimum passing scores.
The range of the TEAS exam score is 0.0% to 100%. The number of questions that a test-taker gets correct is modified and given a percentage. The test taker will have a percentage score over the entire exam and scores for each subject. There may be variations in the specific score needed for an individual to be admitted in a post-secondary course. For instance, some institutions expect an overall score of 66% from individuals. Some have specific score requirements for a subtest and expect a score of over 45.8% in the science subtest, while the English subtest score should be over 60%, the math subtest to be at least 63.3%, and the reading score should be at least 69%.

Applicants required to take the TEAS exams for a health course entry should inquire about the pass score requirement from the post-secondary institution to which they have applied. How do schools interpret the scores? There are five classes of scores that many schools use to segment scores. ● Developmental: This is the lowest score range and shows a remedial score. It often ranges from 0% to 40%. ● Basic: This shows a low extent of academic readiness and skill. It usually ranges from 41% to 58%. ● Proficient: This level indicates an average to proficient academic level and usually ranges from 59% to 77%. ● Advanced: an advanced TEAS score indicates that a learner has a high readiness level for academic health sciences. Usually, the scores range between 78% to 90%. ● Exemplary: This is the highest-scoring class, usually, 91% and over. Learners in this score category are ready to succeed in health sciences academically and will usually need little preparation before joining health sciences classes. How and when do I receive my TEAS score results?
The TEAS comes in both electronic and paper formats. Applicants who electronically take these exams will view their scores immediately on completing the examination, so long as the school has a provision for the option.
Contrarily, ATI will review and grade the test for test-takers who opt for the paper version, usually within 24 hours. Score calculation may take approximately 72 hours if the examination is at a PSI center.
How do I view my TEAS test performance?
There are four sections in the TEAS examination: reading, English/language, mathematics, and science. Additionally, 16 sub-areas are given scores. Besides, an overall score is included in the report score. The scores are used to provide test takers various information regarding their test performance, which is highlighted below.
Adjusted Composite Score This result splits the number of right answers by all the questions in all the test sections. For instance, a test-taker who gets 125 correct answers out of 150 test questions will get an 83%. This percentage is slightly modified on the account that a version of the examination may have tougher questions than some versions. This final score is the harmonized combined score for a student, measured with one of the five levels of academic readiness- ranging from developmental to exemplary- which shows a student's total academic ability and skills to perform in a health science course.
Adjusted Subscale Scores The adjusted content uses a similar scoring method to the adjusted composite score. The only distinction is that the score depends on the number of questions in each primary section and not the overall exam.
National Mean Score Your report score contains the average TEAS exam scores. Student sampling is used to calculate the average adjusted composite score. This is indicated for your combined score comparison. Remember that the sampling category has students from various health science courses.
Program Mean Score Like the national mean, this score also uses student sampling to compute the average adjusted composite score. Its distinction is that you are in the same health field as all the students in the sample.
National percentage position Your national percentage position depends on the number of students within the sample who represent different health science courses. From one to 99, this value shows the student percentage who attain a score at or below yours. Your combined score and content section scores report the national percentage position.
Unit percentage position This scoring category also depends on student sampling; nevertheless, you are in the same health science course with all the other students. These scores will associate the student percentage with an equal score or lower than your combined score or content part scores.
